Baja Portalegre 500
The Baja Portalegre 500 was the first competition of all-terrain, organized in Portugal in June 1987 and based in the city of Portalegre.
In fact about 100 cars and more than 100 bikes entered the first Baja Portalegre, then called Portalegre Marathon Rally - Finicisa.
The test took place on a circuit of 400km, traveled twice without any interruptions. Heavy rains and mud made the event a huge challenge for drivers of both cars and motorcycles.
Since the first year, the competition of the bikes has been international and disputed by the best riders of all-road vehicles in the world, such as Serge Bacou, Thierry Charbonnier, Gilles LALAY, Stephane Peterhansel, David Castera, Cyril Esquirol, Richard Sainct, Alain Perez, Thierry Magnaldi, among others.
This year marks the 30th edition, which runs from the 27th to 29th of October and, as such, the organization is preparing a series of initiatives to mark the date.
Fair of Golegã
One that is considered the largest equestrian fair kicks off on the 4th of November and lasts until the 13th on the streets of the village of Golegã, about 100 kilometers from Lisbon. This is the 41st edition of the Horse Fair, better known by the Fair of Golegã. During 10 days, the village is filled with trials, championships and competitions of equestrian jumps. There are also exhibitions and tennis tournaments to see, equestrian workshops to do, and Ribatejo snacks to taste. All this to the sound of music that intones the streets.

Next November, Portugal will host the sixth edition of Web Summit. The technology conference will take place between the 7th and 10th of that month in the Portuguese capital and will receive an impressive number of speakers: 600.
The organization has now revealed the first 200 names and there are already remarkable surprises. Among the first confirmed are Mike Schroepfer, CTO of Facebook, Jim Zemlin, executive director of the Linux Foundation, Mike Perlis, president of Forbes, Seth Farbman, CMO of Spotify, Joel Lunenfeld, vice president for global strategy of Twitter, Brad Rencher, vice president of Adobe, Jonas Jacobi, vice president of IBM, Mark Russinovich, Microsoft's CTO, John Chambers, CEO of Cisco Systems and Sean Rad, co-founder of Tinder.
In this extensive list there is still room for some popular personalities in non-technological circles as the British musician, TinieTempah and former footballer Raúl González.
Remember that Lisbon will host the next three editions of the Web Summit so you can expect a parade of technological and non-technological personalities in the coming years.
For now, the number of confirmed entries announces success; six months before the conference, the organization already had 27.000 subscribers.
