On Site Malta wins the European Enterprises Climate Cup in Malta!
This philosophy reflects also in the day to day running of the company with the recycling of materials, waste separation, and energy conservation becoming routine.
Today we’re proud to announce that our efforts have been recognized not only on nationally, but on a European level.
The European Enterprises Climate Cup (EECC) is a project co-funded by the European Commission’s Intelligent Energy Europe Programme that aims to support small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in their goal to be front-runners in energy efficiency management. By participating in the EECC, they were provided with by cost-free energy advice and good-practice sharing.
On Site Malta won the European Enterprises Climate Cup because of its dedication to sustainable energy practices and investments in energy efficient office technologies. On Site Malta is a dynamic destination management company (DMC) that organizes events from small meetings to large international conferences and incentives for 7000 guests and more.
On Site Malta’s motivation to join the competition
“We joined the European Enterprises Climate Cup as part of our corporate social responsibility efforts and to save energy and operating costs. Furthermore, our highly motivated team of employees enjoyed taking part in this EU-wide competition.”
On Site Malta achieved energy savings of 34%
On Site Malta implemented energy saving measures and behaviour changes in various areas such as purchasing energy efficient office equipment including laptops, printers, and air-conditioners. In addition staff motivation for sustainable energy practices was an important aspect in winning the competition in Malta.
To this effect, On Site Malta purchased a set of bicycles on dynamo’s that can be used by clients to charges batteries which can in turn power lights or sound equipment during events or as mobile phone charging station in the office to increase employee awareness. On Site Malta also upgraded its company fleet with 5 electric cars to raise awareness about energy saving at the work place. In addition staff was informed about energy efficient practices. Towards the end of the competition, On Site Malta shifted from local servers to cloud based networking which eliminated the need for air-conditioned server rooms. Upgrades to the A/C system were made and in various areas inefficient lights were replaced with LED technology.
