Costa Rica At A Glance...
As you might already know Costa Rica has become, in the last twenty years a "must visit" destination. It is close to the U.S., politically stable, peaceful, has some of the highest education and health index in the World and it is, in a very small area, a super diverse destination.
A small cauldron that contains safe adventures, great hotels, a diverse culture and an amazing nature, Costa Rica's best feature is how nice and welcoming Costa Ricans are.
So, let's take a glance of what Costa Rica is about:
Conquered by the Spaniards, but with immigrants coming from all over the World since the colonial days (Due to its isolation first and its political stability later), Costa Rica has a strong Latin feeling: the music, the colors and the distinctive tropical flavors compound to make the country a unique, yet, surprisingly varied (For a country as small as West Virginia) mixture of races, foods, music and dances. And, depending where you are, the rhythm comes from the quijongo (A type of musical bow), the guitar or the marimba.
Costa Rica represents only 0,0001% of the total land on Earth, yet according to the WCMC (World Conservation Monitoring Center) from United Nations, Costa Rica is among the most biodiverse countries in the planet (Together with giants as Brasil, United States or India) and declared to be one of the ten extremely high biodiverse countries. What does that mean in a country as small as Costa Rica? It means that yes! Animals, birds and all these mighty creatures are easy to see when on a hike through the forest, making this country to be a favorite when talking about nature lovers.

As the mixture of cultures in Costa Rica is so strong. The education levels are so high, this combination creates very distinct art crafts of great quality, yet, unique. From woods to mosaics, passing manually painted wonders, the possibilities for singular and original gifts is almost infinite.
The great thing about being a small country is that safety is easy to guarantee. Having said that, Costa Rica is the birthplace of the nowadays famous rainforest canopy tours (Starting with biologists researching the tops of the trees), and the home of some of the best rating rivers in the World. This together with a great array of activities such as tubing, canoeing, waterfall rappelling and the most fantastic hikes make Costa Rica to be a great destination for team building or simply having fun.
Costa Rican new cuisine is emerging right now as an innovative option for travelers. To that aim ICT is partnering with the Costa Rican Chamber of Restaurants (CACORE) and the National Institute of Biodiversity (INBio) to launch the second phase of a national plan for healthy and sustainable food. Under the plan, professionals are training Costa Rica restaurant staff to prepare traditional dishes, placing a high emphasis on utilization of local and fresh plants, vegetables and fruits.
